WHAT IS CARBON FOOTPRINT, AND WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT?

It is a measure that assesses the amount of greenhouse gases, primarily carbon dioxide (CO2), released into the atmosphere as a result of human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels, industrial production, and deforestation.

The increase in concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is causing global warming, leading to extreme weather events, melting polar ice caps, rising sea levels, and significant impacts on biodiversity and human quality of life.

Therefore, monitoring and reducing the carbon footprint are essential to mitigate climate change and protect our planet for future generations.

FOR EVERY 50 KG APPLIED, 25 KG OF CO₂ EMISSIONS ARE AVOIDED*

In 2021, Harsco conducted a Life Cycle Assessment and Carbon Footprint Assessment of Agrosilício Corrective/Plus Products.

Comparing overall emissions, it is observed that the use of AgroSilício Soil Conditioner/Plus represents about 5% of the total impacts of using limestone, considering the same functional unit based on the assumptions adopted in this study.

The results of the Product's Carbon Footprint (CFP) from the Cradle to Gate approach for the product: AgroSilício Soil Conditioner /Plus, were third-party verified.
